What Arizona deductions, credits, and other situations does FileYourStateTaxes not support this year?
Currently, the tool does not support:
Deductions
- Arizona 529 plan contributions deduction
- Deduction for 529A (ABLE accounts) contributions
- Subtractions listed on page 6, AZ 140, including:
- Adoption expense
- Long-term care insurance premiums
- Qualified wood stove, wood fireplace, or gas-fired fireplace
- Other Exemptions claimed on line 40, AZ 140. See additional details on page 20 of AZ 140 resident booklet
- Itemized deductions
Credits
- Property Tax Credit
- Credit for Contributions made to Qualifying Charitable Organizations (if claimed based on contributions made in 2025 or prior year carryover)
- Public School Tax Credit (if claimed based on payments made in 2025 or prior year carryover)
- Nonrefundable credits on AZ Form 301 and not listed here, including
- Credit for Contributions to Qualifying Foster Care Charitable Organizations
- Credit for Contributions to Certified School Tuition Organizations
- Credit for Contributions to Private School Tuition Organizations
- Credit for Donations to the Military Family Relief Fund
- Claim credits you want to carry over from a prior year tax return. For example, if you claimed a nonrefundable credit last year that was greater than your taxes owed, you cannot use this tool to claim the remainder of that prior year credit.
Payments
- Estimated tax payments
Other situations
- File using a different filing status than what was used on your federal return
- Claim dependents that aren’t claimed on your federal tax return
- Extension to file a state tax return
- Voluntary contributions directly on your tax return
